New year, new me (not quite)

Every year we have the same old Twitter and Facebook addicts trawling through the internet and posting statuses/tweets about how they have changed. But is this all just a myth?

The first few days, however painful they may be were sprawled with people claiming they are healthier, fitter and less addicted to the internet. But, in reality, behind all those tweets and statuses we see, I am positive that half of them are probably under the covers with enough chocolate to knock out Chich Marin. After a few days of saying ‘new year, new me’ (seemingly the only thing that covered my timeline other than Miley Cyrus) we all go back to our normal selves. I know that I do anyway. A few days of being completely and relatively organised and proactive and then I find myself sobbing over how much coursework I have and whether the last few episodes of CSI New York are ones that I have previously watched before. You could call this a routinely thing. However, nothing is more annoying than the ‘new year, new me’ statuses which seemed to be followed up with pictures of people’s bodies, probably enhanced by Photoshop, (unless they have magically grown a 6 pack overnight) trying to prove the fact they have in fact changed everything about themselves overnight. Logistically impossible but nevertheless, annoying and sometimes, humorous.
